About Quimby Country
Quimby Country is in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont surrounded by pristine lakes and miles of untouched forests. Set on six hundred acres, our twenty cottages overlook Forest Lake. Our Beach House and swimming areas are on Big Averill Lake. Quimby's is a family oriented resort with the accent on service, comfort, and enjoyment of our natural surroundings. We are open May through October.

Quimby's has been a secluded family vacation spot for over one hundred years. We hope you decide to come sample our special brand of hospitality and enjoy the simple pleasures Quimby offers.

Directions to Quimby Country

FROM LOGAN INTERN’L AIRPORT

From Logan International Airport take access road and follow directions to Rte 1A North. Stay on Rte 1A to Rte 16 West, that will take you to Interstate 93 North. Take 93 North through New Hampshire to Exit 35 (Rte 3 North). Stay on Rte 3 North, this will take you into Colebrook. In Colebrook, continue on Rte 3 for about 8 miles until you come to West Stewartstown, at the flashing red light, take a left onto Rte 114 South. This will take you into Canaan, VT. About 9 miles down, you will see a tall highway sigh for “Quimby Country”. A little further down, watch for a little green sign that says Forest Lake, dirt road. Take a left onto the dirt road, go two miles and Quimby’s will be on your right. (If you pass the small country store “Lake View”, you’ve gone too far!).

FROM MANCHESTER, NH

Take Interstate 93 North through New Hampshire to Exit 35 (Rte 3 North). Stay on Rte 3 North, this will take you into Colebrook. Continue on Rte 3 for about 8 miles until you come to West Stewartstown, at the flashing light, take a left onto Rte 114 South. Go through Canaan, VT. About 9 miles further, you will see a tall highway sigh for “Quimby Country”. A little further down, watch for a little green sigh that says Forest Lake. FROM DORVAL INTERN’L AIRPORT

At Dorval take Rte 20 East until you see the sign for 10 East – Pont Champlain, follow the sign for the bridge and take that exit. After you pass the bridge, keep on Rte 10 East. At Magog your take the exit for Rte 55, you stay on 55 until you reach Ayers’Cliff and then you take 141 South. In Coaticook, you turn right on Rte 147 South. Enter Vermont through Norton’s Customs. After Customs, yield onto Rte 114 North (left turn). Go for about 4 miles, you will see a small country store call “Lake View Store”. Shortly past this, take a right on Forest Lake road (a dirt road). Go about 2 miles on the dirt road, you will see the Quimby’s sign on your right.

FROM HARTFORD, CT

Take Interstate 91 North to Exit 23 for Lyndonville, VT. Then take Route 5 North until the junction of Route 114 North. Stay on 114 North for about 44 miles until you come to Norton, VT, Averill is 4 miles from Norton on 114 North. You will see a small store on your left “The Lake View Store”. The turn for Quimby’s is about 1/8 of a mile further on the right, there is a small sign at the bottom of the road that says Forest Lake. Go down Forest Lake Road for two miles and take the first right turn and you are here!

FROM BURLINGTON, VT

Take Interstate 89 South to Exit 10 for Waterbury. Then take Route 100 North to Newport Center. Take Route 105 East to Derby Center, Route 111 South until junction with 114. Take Route 114 North and stay on it. You will go by Norton, VT. Averill is about 4 miles from Norton. You will see a small store on your left “The Lake View Store”, the turn for Quimby’s is about 1/8 of a mile further on the right. There is a small sign at the bottom of the road that says Forest Lake. Go down Forest Lake Road,a dirt road, for two miles and take the first right turn and you are here!
